Write about your first computer.
My first computer was of course the Atari 2600! I loved it as a kid, especially Breakout and Space Invaders.
Breakout
A wonderfully simple game, that’s what I liked about it. At a certain point the ball went much faster and it became too difficult. I loved that there were so many colors to see and of course the interaction. I remember that my mother was even a bit addicted to it, even though she didn’t really want to know anything about computers. We had a lot of games, because my father always bought the latest gadgets.
Space Invaders
Another wonderfully simple game. In this game the space creatures also came down faster and faster. And the aliens fired back as well.
Really nice to think back to my first computer. Those were good times. We also had two joysticks, so we could also play games against each other, which was of course also great fun. I wasn’t really into watching television, of course there weren’t that many good programs back then. So if I could play a game, that was of course great. Only there was only one television, so it was either playing a game or watching television. So please discuss carefully. Later we got a PC with DOS on it. Another nostalgic thing. Nice with the old-fashioned floppies. We had a whole stack of floppies with all kinds of games. I didn’t really know how it all worked with all those commands, but I was able to start a game. It’s funny that I now have to enter all kinds of codes every day, after I retrained as a developer. Funny how life can turn out. Still, I’m glad I don’t have to enter commands in DOS.
