My weekly 10/2024 with the results of the PET scan, headaches and having to put our super sweet cat to sleep.
Monday, March 4
Work: First update all websites in the morning.
Fathers: Went to the hospital with stepfather for the results of his PET scan. This was positive, because the chemo is doing its job. The tumor in his bone is no longer visible, which does not mean that it is gone, but dormant. The tumor in his bladder has shrunk. So he can continue for 3 more sessions of chemo. Then probably immunotherapy. Immediately had blood tests because we were there anyway, but that took a little longer than expected.
Work: In the afternoon, putting a website live together with my colleague and checking other things.
Me-time: Suddenly a really hard headache. Maybe because I didn’t drink in the hospital or during the 2.5 hour meeting. At 7:00 PM I was in bed, later I sat downstairs for a while, but I went to bed early.
Blog: Crazy about sticker books

Tuesday
Work: The day started with an Aleve, because the headache was far from gone. Then spent almost two hours in the car for a day at the Den Bosch office. It was fun though.
Blog: Three most important objects

Wednesday
Sports: Last time pilates and a run together in the afternoon.
Home: Cleaning the house together. The weather was beautiful, so it was nice to be able to look through the windows.
Blog: Wrinkles are welcome

Thursday
Fathers: Joe hit someone, luckily not too seriously. Then he had to go straight to chemo session 4.
At the end of the afternoon, he had to check on his cat, because he makes such a mess at home every time.
Me: I lost a library book, so I went to the library to see if it wasn’t still there by accident, unfortunately not.
Kids: Going to the supermarket with the ladies because they want to bake cookies with chocolate pieces in them.
Travel: Remco bought two hand luggage suitcases, ready for England.
Sports: Track training together. Brrr, that wind is so cold.
Kids: The ladies baked cookies and tasted a few of course, the rest was to take to school.
Me-time: Watching the last bit of Ajax.
Blog: Forever connected

Friday
Work: Phew, what a day, nothing worked, so I’m glad the working day was over.
Me-time: Drinking a few wines with friends and eating some snacks.
Going to the hairdresser for the first time in 10 years. I always do it myself, I want to do everything myself. Big piece off. Hopefully I can just wear it loose now.
Blog: Things aren’t going that bad
Cats: At 2 o’clock in the morning I suddenly hear a racket. Sheba tried to climb the stairs, but her backside was paralyzed, probably due to the tumor. So sad! She really wanted to get on Nikki’s bed. I lay there with her for a moment and hoped that she would fall asleep peacefully, but she was completely freaked out. So I called the vet on duty at night and drove to Amsterdam for an injection. ?

Saturday
Family: Everyone is very tired and back to bed after breakfast until lunch.
Kids: They both didn’t want to go to gymnastics. I can imagine that, because they were upset that their cat is no longer there.
Nina goes out with friends, shopping of course.
Mother-daughter time: Nikki and I on our bikes together in the sun. First to the candy shop, then to a nice gift shop for washing machine perfume and Happy Soap hair soap and finally to the garden center to select two plants. On the way back she wanted to stop at the playground. Even for teenagers it remains fun.
Sports: Enjoy watching Formula 1.
Fathers: Stepfather came for tea. He had all kinds of mail, just rubbed his back and discussed our weekend in England.
Coding: Getting Started with Makey Makey.
Family time: Hubby on the road, we messed around and at 9:00 PM the three ladies were of course hungry again, so we started baking pancakes.
Me-time: I wore my hair loose all day today, I never do that! I finished my book in the evening, nice. With Whiskey close to me of course.
Blog: Nice crooked hips

Sunday
Me-time: Listened to the podcast and always made notes in my notebook, of course.
Bucket list: Cleaned out my desk drawers while watching the podcast. Throwing away a lot, which is wonderful.
Made my own corn soup. It’s on my bucket list for 2024. I think I went a little too wild with the chili flakes. It was delicious with a sandwich in it.
Fathers: First visit my stepfather for an hour. Installed toner in the printer and had a quick chat.
Visiting my father for an hour. Not really going well. His neck is still very thick and now so is his leg. He’s just retaining fluid because he’s not moving, I think. Hopefully he won’t suffer from thrombosis. And he also had major inflammation in his groin, with pus and broken skin. He had known about it for two weeks, but didn’t tell anyone. Sigh.
Blog: Sheba passed away

My weekly 10/2024 ends very sad again with such a sick father and our super sweet Sheba who passed away, I miss her terribly.
