From Splitting Nails to Strong Nails

Writing Assignment #119 – How to Cut Your Nails, from 365 Days of Writing. From Splitting Nails to Strong Nails.

I used to always want long nails. I even had a period where I was busy with nail polish, creating the most beautiful designs. But my nails always broke. There would be an annoying split, and I had to cut it off. So, I always had uneven nails or short nails if I wanted them to be even. I wasn’t happy with it.

When I became a mother, I started eating healthier, and since then, my nails have become super strong. I often got complaints from my daughters that I scratched them. So, I had to cut my nails. Now, I let them grow a bit longer sometimes, but I don’t really like long nails because I do scratch everyone, and then one bends, which is very painful.

Although I keep them quite short now, they are always even, and I don’t get those annoying splits anymore. So, I’m very happy that I’ve gone from splitting nails to strong nails. Whether it’s because of healthy eating, pregnancy, or just getting older, who knows.
