One word that is the answer to everything, always: love. Always. What’s more important? Love for your children, your partner and your fellow man in general. But also for your environment, nature. And the most important thing: for yourself.
Writing assignment #14
Love for nature
Nature is so beautiful, if you take the time to see it. This week I saw the first daffodil. Wonderful to see a cheerful color again during the cold winter. And in the spring and summer I love watching the swimming swan families, neatly in a row. Autumn with its beautiful colors. Every season has its own charm. And not just the seasons, also the parts of the day. The sunrise, everything pink or orange, waking up, full of energy, a new day ahead. One of my favorites is the sunset with its different colors, the peace, the return of silence.
… for people
I am painfully aware that the people around me are very important. Especially this past year when I had such a hard time. Everyone supported in their own way. A phone call, a card, a meal, it doesn’t matter. It’s just love and I am very grateful to them for that. But also my children, investing time in my children is now a lot more important to me. Some time ago I came across this sentence somewhere: The only ones who will remember your overtime are your children. And so it is. I want them to think back to their childhood with a warm feeling.
… for yourself
Don’t be too hard on yourself, give yourself time to do nothing, relax, try something crazy. But also physically. Move, go outside. And for God’s sake, eat what your body needs instead of what your head wants to eat. My children often say something like: Why are you eating that, that’s not tasty? But yes, my body really likes it. Occasionally some nutritional supplements, I always order them from Vitamins by post, nice and easy. Fortunately, Nina loves smoothies, so I enjoy drinking with her. But those two ladies really enjoy snacking. Nikki makes noodles all day long, growing teenager. I often say: Eat something that your body needs. But hey, I might as well say that to the wall. Hopefully she will understand those words one day.
