At RTL 7 they always say: More for men. But actually I’m the one in the house who watches those men things. I love football, Formula 1 and darts!
Writing assignment #15
Football
I have always liked football, I think I inherited it from my mother and she from her mother. In our family, the men don’t like football at all, while the women do. Ajax and FC Volendam are nothing at the moment, but I will still follow it. And I’m already looking forward to summer! Not only because of the heat, but also because of the European Football Championship. I prefer to watch all the matches, even if it is Austria versus Belgium. Delicious!
I have only been following Formula 1 since Michael Schumacher retired, because before that I didn’t like the fact that he kept winning. Now Max wins every time, but of course I really like that. In 2005 I went to Formula 1 in Melbourne, in 2008 I spent a week at the campsite in Monza and again to Nuernberg. Watching it on location is of course great fun with the whole atmosphere around it, but I prefer watching it at home. Also fun with my ladies. They now also know all the drivers. I feel like Formula 1 is no longer considered a men’s thing these days.

Darts
Darts, I really love that too! I can happily watch it for hours. The tournament around Christmas & New Year is especially great. Michael van Gerwen & Dirk van Duijvenbode of course, with Luke Littler who is now throwing a spanner in everyone’s dinner, that’s wonderful! It always looks like one big party in the hall. Still, I don’t really need to go there. Just like with football and Formula 1, it is much easier to follow from the couch.
