Every morning I can straighten my nice crooked hips. I usually do that in the bathroom, then there is such a nice echo.
Writing assignment #42
Back pain
As a teenager I had a lot of back pain. Seen all kinds of specialists, standing exercises, sitting exercises, I know a lot. Later I went to a chiropractor for this. He cracked me every month, which I loved. A bit scary at first of course because of that strange cracking sound. At first we didn’t know about my hips. Later it seemed as if my legs were not the same length, as my mother did. But my legs were the same length, but my hips were crooked and I regularly went to have them straightened out. Handy, those nice crooked hips.
DIY
At a certain point I knew how to straighten my hips myself. I basically did exactly the same thing as the chiropractor, except now I didn’t have to go every time. And it really helped, that was of course the most important thing. Every morning I sit a certain way and crack my hips one by one. It is easiest to do it from the toilet, then it echoes nicely through the bathroom. My husband has a different opinion about that, he thinks it’s a terrible sound. I can also do it from the edge of my bed. Just what suits me, because I don’t do it consciously. It’s not like I think first thing in the morning where I’m going to crack my hips. I just feel it when I start walking and then I crack them when it suits me. Even standing I can crack them, it doesn’t matter to me. I’m creaky anyway and I think I can crack every part of my body, especially my painful shoulders, but that’s another story. 😉
