I’m actually happy with the way my life is right now. For me it’s: no extras needed. It doesn’t always need be more.
Writing Assignment #37
More
No, I really don’t need anything extra. More money? Always useful, but it wouldn’t make me happier. More holidays? I only have one vacation planned this year and I’m going to enjoy it even more. I would like more healthy family members, but unfortunately I have no influence on that. I do have influence over my own health, so I exercise a lot and eat healthily. And I don’t exercise to create a perfect body, to lose weight or to become super muscular, but to have a super healthy body and to remain flexible, especially with a sedentary job.
Decrease
I recently attended a forest bathing lecture and learned how they live in Japan. Sounds so wonderful, nature completely integrated. I also really try to avoid stress, at least only unhealthy stress. And to have a positive mindset, to have confidence. I completely trust that things will go the way they are supposed to go. I recently read a book about wabi sabi. Of course, it came my way through the lecture and was therefore also about the Japanese way of life and the Japanese appreciation for imperfection. And then of course there is Marie Kondo, the tidying guru. I’m not tidy at all, but I really want to cut down on stuff. Every now and then go through a drawer or cupboard and sort everything out, especially throw it away. Delicious!
