Not serious, but those dead fingers are annoying. Unfortunately, I inherited Raynaud syndrome from both sides of the family.
Writing assignment 23
Winter is quite difficult for me. As soon as the temperature drops, I start to suffer from dead fingers. They then become completely white and numb. That numbness is so inconvenient because I can’t even get my house key into the lock. If there is pressure against my fingers, they die immediately. So when I go cycling I hold the handlebars, when I hold a bag my veins immediately close due to the pressure. I also have it indoors. After I peel potatoes, they are numb for hours. It takes a very long time before they flow properly again. When I go from outside to inside, there is a temperature difference which makes it go a bit faster, but if I am already indoors it takes a very long time. Rubbing my hands doesn’t work at all, because then there is pressure again and a man’s blood vessels are compressed. My friends always want to warm my hands very nicely, but that doesn’t help. It’s just waiting and raising the temperature.
Blisters
If my fingers have been without blood for a long time, subcutaneous blisters develop. You can hardly see it, but I feel them all the more! I’m not sure if they are blisters, but that’s what they feel like. I have the same problem with my toes. In winter I always wear extra warm socks or Ugg slippers at home. And outdoors, Ugg boots, or something with a lot of wool. After running everything is nice and warm and there is good blood circulation, but when I step into the hot shower, all my blood rushes away and everything dies immediately. Such a strange reaction. A few years ago I even had a sample taken in the hospital and cultured, but it is nothing serious, just Raynaud syndrome. Only it is terribly irritating!
