In my 2024 bucket list I wrote that I wanted to try some recipes. This easy date bars recipe is really super easy and more importantly: incredibly delicious.
Recipe made easy
The recipe comes from De Notenshop, but I made my own version of it. I don’t want to make bars for 15 people, I’ll never finish them. So my variant has about a quarter of everything and I have adjusted some ingredients. The puffed spelled became wheat, because I happened to have puffed wheat at home. I always have a jar of mixed nuts, every day around 10 am it is nut time. Dark chocolate is always in my desk drawer. I bought dates specifically to make the recipes. I immediately put the dates, nuts and wheat together, because I like it as simple as possible. I did mash the mixture with a sturdy fork. I may have a Philips blender that can chop ice cubes, but dates don’t make him happy.
Happy food
As I described in last week’s My weekly and in my blog happy blue monday, trying new recipes and even more chocolate makes me very happy, so go make it and taste it yourself! I also took a few pieces to my stepfather. Later I received a text saying “More!”. I think he liked it too. My previous date cacao oatmeal bars recipe was also very tasty. So, the item of making date bars on my 2024 bucket list has now been completed. The ingredients and steps are neatly listed at the bottom of the page.
