Everyone can cry

Everyone can laugh, and it is greatly encouraged. Everyone can cry, but we are always taught to stop it as quickly as possible, with phrases like:
Be quiet.
It’s okay.
It’s not that bad.
Here, have a candy.
Don’t be such a wimp.

Here are a few reasons why it’s important to cry and allow your emotions from time to time:

  • Emotional release: Crying helps you release built-up emotions, which can provide a sense of relief and liberation.
  • Stress reduction: Tears contain stress hormones, so crying can help reduce stress and make you feel calmer.
  • Physical health: Suppressing emotions can lead to physical complaints, such as headaches or muscle tension. By crying, you prevent these emotions from settling in your body.
  • Improved mood: After crying, your brain produces endorphins, which can improve your mood and give you a sense of well-being.
  • Connection with others: Crying can also be a way to show vulnerability and connect with others, which can lead to support and understanding.

Crying music, only piano

I used to absolutely not be able to stand classical music with piano or violins. It made me very nervous. This was often played as waiting music at the homeopath, so I would just wait outside. Now I find it beautiful.

Songs

I actually find this a lovely song. Such a big tough man, singing for his inner child. The lyrics really touch me. This is crying hard.

Enya can make me feel happy and sad, depending on my mood. I chose this song for my mother’s funeral, while everyone was walking in. Very soothing, beautiful voice, mysterious.

This song was played at my father’s funeral. He had made a playlist himself. Not specifically for his funeral, but just with songs he liked. He listened to this at home with his headphones on and then tears would roll down his cheeks, his wife told me. It’s just a beautiful song.

Such a beautiful song, which I can sing word for word.

Conclusion

It’s perfectly okay to have a good cry from time to time. Just let those tears come…
