My daughter’s tangled hair

Writing Prompt #123 – Something that is tangled, from 365 Days of Writing. That is clearly my daughter’s tangled hair.

My youngest daughter Nina showers in the evening. Then she goes to sleep with a bun, which makes her hair super tangled the next morning.

Often, she quickly brushes her hair herself in the morning, but only the visible parts, making it look super neat. But underneath, it’s a big mess of tangles.

When I’m randomly asked to brush her hair, it takes me a long time to get all the knots out. It’s really a hassle.

And yet, I don’t think about brushing her hair after she showers. I also don’t like brushing wet hair.

Or it seems neatly brushed, but in the end, it wasn’t.

However, she takes the time every evening to roll her hair neatly in a hair roller, so she has beautiful curls the next morning.

One day she’ll realize that it’s not very practical to go to sleep with wet, unbrushed hair. But hey, there are worse things in the world than my daughter’s tangled hair.
